There are 2 ways of doing it:

Using the “Selection” tool to bend

1. Click on the text object and choose “Create Selection”. Now you'll have a selection with the text graphics already extrated.

2. Press the “Move and transform” tool icon in the “Tools” panel (or press key 1). Select the “Bend” circle button. To bend the selection, drag the control points you see on the selection in the Canvas.

It's also possible to bend by changing the “Bend” parameters of the Selection Tool.

3. Click on the selection and choose “Insert as new object”. You will then have a new image object.

Convert Text object into an Image object and bend it's layer

1. Click on the text object and choose “Merge into image” or “Merge into new image object”. Now you'll have an image object with 1 layer on it. Press Ctrl+L to edit the layer.

(It's also possible to edit layers by choosing the “Move and transform content” tool and pressing the “Layers” tab)

2. You probably need to make the object content size bigger to make room for the bend. To change the content size to this:

Press “Move and transform content” tool and then press the “Size and Offset” tab. Ajust the “Width” and “Height” so there will be enough room for the bend.

If you don't change the object content size, the bended graphics may be cut, because parts of it may go outside the boundaries of the object content area.

3. Choose the “Move and transform content” tool (or press key 2).

Select the “Bend” circle button. Drag the layer control points you see on the canvas to bend the layer.

When done bending, choose the “Move and transform object” tool

Thats it!
